IV Therapy
Intravenous (IV) therapy consists of specific vitamins and minerals which are injected directly into the bloodstream. In doing so, it bypasses the digestive system in order for a higher level of nutrients to be delivered into the cells. Therefore, people with digestive disorders will be able to absorb the vitamins and minerals without it being excreted unabsorbed.
As IV therapies raise blood levels of nutrients to a considerably greater degree than oral therapy, it improves the transport of nutrients into the cells. The nutrients then 'kick start' the cells that are functioning below standard and, by doing so, increases the energy capacity and function of all cells. Furthermore, nutrients injected at a high enough concentration can produce a pharmacological (drug-like) effect on a cellular level. For instance, vitamin C injected at high concentrations has the ability to kill viruses and many types of cancer cells.
IV nutrient therapy with high concentrations of vitamin C has also been shown to be effective at treating cancer. For some, it is known as the 'chemotherapy alternative'. When high doses of vitamin C are injected into a vein, it acts like a drug and is toxic to cancer cells, while protecting healthy ones.
The benefits of vitamin C therapy was discovered by Linus Pauling, winner of the Nobel prize in chemistry in 1954. He advocated that any condition from the common cold to mental illness can be treated with high doses of vitamins and other nutrients. This form of treatment is now known as "orthomolecular", meaning "right molecule". Since it is impossible to achieve the effects through oral dosing, IV injections of vitamin C and other vitamins and minerals must be employed for the anti-cancer effect to occur.
The Myers' Cocktail is another common intravenous therapy of vitamins and minerals consisting of: magnesium, calcium, B complex, vitamin B6, B5, B12, and vitamin C. This formula is beneficial in treating many health conditions including: fibromyalgia, asthma, fatigue (including chronic fatigue syndrome), acute muscle spasm or chronic pain, migraines, viral or bacterial infections, upper respiratory tract infections, chronic sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, cardiovascular disease, as well as increasing the recovery phase in athletes in training and during competition. Other neurological conditions such as Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's, Dementia, Schizophrenia and Multiple sclerosis can also benefit from the Myers' Cocktail and other nutrients specific to their condition.
Dr. Tintinalli has been trained and certified in administering IV therapies in Ontario. For more information considering this form of treatment and whether your health condition would benefit from nutrient therapies please contact the NMHC at 345-5977. The NMHC has been performing IV therapy for over 2 years, and continues to see remarkable results from the treatments. We currently offer the Myers Cocktail, High Dose Vitamin C Therapy, Glutathione and vitamin B12 injections and more.
